ESPN.com: Page 2 : The NBA's Big Picture Show

I found this article at ESPN from one of my favorite writers there, Bill Simmons. This is his latest NBA team power rankings. And of course my Spurs are sitting pretty at #1.

Another HDTV Buying Guide

This article gives some insight on purchasing a service plan to go along with the television. Usually I'm not the one to purchase a service plan for any electronics. I think it's pretty much a rip off. But I've also never made puchases for more than a G, so I might reconsider.

Generation Y: They've arrived at work with a new attitude - Yahoo! News

Interesting article on Generation Y'ers entering the workforce of Corporate America. I especially like this quote:

"Generation Y is much less likely to respond to the traditional command-and-control type of management still popular in much of today's workforce"

And I always thought I was wierd to always question my management's decisions. And sometimes even ignoring them.

iRadio

This is pretty cool what Motorola is doing. They are looking to incorporate every Motorola phone with online radio stations. This means that you will be able to take online content or even your own music library anywhere that your phone goes to play at home, your car, or even with your headphones anywhere.

Harley-Davidson 883 Custom Sportster

I'm really feelin' this Harley Sportster bike. It has all the specs of a regular sports bike, but has the look and feel of an old school cruising Harley. I think it might be for me.

Check out the specs here.

I even found an online sportster fan website here.

ESPN.com - Hollinger: Curry just not worth it

Interesting ESPN article detailing the Eddie Curry trade. When I first heard about it, I really hated the trade. Especially since I just became a season ticket holder. But after reading this article, the author makes some good points as to why the Bulls might still be alright afterall.

This could be the one!!!!!

I have my motorcycle safety class next weekend, so it's inspired me to start shopping around once again for motorcycles. This is the best time to shop around for them up here in Chicago since so many people are looking to store or get rid of their bikes for the winter. You can usually catch people desperate to get rid of them.

Here's one that I've been looking at the past couple days. It's a 1997 Suzuki Marauder and it looks pretty nice. Especially since it's only around 2k.

My family reunion in Souix Falls, SD. Yeah, I know I couldn't believe that black folks live there either. ;-)

Another disappointing end to the softball season

Well another year another chance for my softball team to get bounce out of the playoffs early. It was a double elimination tournament and both teams we lost to we were able to beat in the regular season. It doesn't make sence.

Here are the stats for the season!!!

Softball - Week #10

Well we are starting to pick the "O" back up. We had a nice little 24-5 win over a decent team. It just seems like our offense is up and down all year and you can tell by looking at our season. We haven't had a winning or losing streak sinse the month of May.

I'm still a little disappointed in my numbers because I tend to pop the ball up too often. I lead the team in "reached on error" plays. But overall my numbers are starting to pick back up. And besides my boy Jeff that is new to the team has been picking up the slack. And now that I bat behind him in the cleanup spot, he takes a few of my RBI's since our 1 and 2 guys have OBP's around .700. It's all good though, I just need to adjust my game and get on base to let someone else hit me in.

Here are a look at our team stats

Apple 1 to 1 Learning Solutions

This is an interesting educational program set forth by Apple Computers. Their initiative is to have a 1-to-1 ratio of computers to students in every school.

Apple - Education - Apple 1 to 1 Learning Solutions

I even read about a school in Arizona that is in the program and is getting rid of all text books. They will be creating a totaly digital learning environment.

Softball - Week #5

Well surprise surprise. My team pulled off an upset of a decent team in the A League (the good league of teams). This just might be what we needed to instill a little confidence in us. Hopefully we'll take this game and build on it. We still play everyone in out league at least one more time and we are only 3 games out of first place. And once the playoffs start anything can happen.

Here are a look at our team stats:

Softball - Week #4

Well we had another tough outing on the diamond last week. We ended losing to another team that we shouldn't have. We were winning this game like 11-2, but gave up our lead and took the game to two extra innings. We ended up losing in the end.

Here's a look at the stats.

This week we play a team from the A league (the good league). I don't see things looking up for a while. Everyone is starting to get frustrated on the squad. This might be what we need to turn the season around.

Nice Article on Manu

It's good to see Manu Ginobili get the national media attention that he deserves. I've always loved his game. He's an impact player that does many things to change the game. He can score, dish, play D, get a steal, grab a board, take charge, and pop the 3.

Check out the ESPN article on Manu here!!!!

Jeff's Wedding - New Orleans, LA

Well I just got back from New Orleans, LA for a wedding. Jeff Grant, my boy from high school, just got married one day and he graduated from Tulane Law School the very next.

Go ahead dog!!!!

It was a good time. Even though I didn't get much sleep, me and the fellas squeezed in some time to check out the new Star Wars joint. Of course we got a chance to chill down on Bourbon street in the French Quarter, but I left all of those photos out. ;-)

Here are some more joints from the wedding though: PHOTOS

Softball - Week #3

Another rough outing. We ended up loosing to a team 8-12. We were alot better than the opposition, but we couldn't come through. I felt like I had my worst softball game ever. I made an error and I also didn't get a single hit the entire game. The only way I got on base and scored a couple of runs is because of errors from the other team.

These are the stats for the year so far: STATS

We should have a pretty easy game today, since we play a team that lost 1-33 last week. But you never know. I thought the Spurs would sweep the Phoenix Suns as well. :-(

This is a link to a pretty cool map that shows you all of ther reported criminal acts on a Map: Check it out!!!

Another Rough Softball Game

I think that this game was more painful than the game we lost last week 14-40. Last week we were leading the entire game, then all of a sudden the last two innings we stopped hitting and playing defense. We were the visiting team and we gave up the winning run in the bottom of the last inning with two errors.

Here's a look at the stats for the year and the last game: STATS

Good News for MOT stock for once!!!!!

It looks like Motorola stock has been doing pretty well lately. It must be all those late hours that I'm putting in. ;-)

But it seriously might be about that time to flick some of those stock options that I get every promotion. I don't see myself holding onto those things for the long-term. I'll seriously have to look into it tonight.

New PS3 - March 2006

PS3
Originally uploaded by jwt9478.

This is a pic of the new PS3. Below are some of the specs:

- 1 CELL running at 4 GHZ, providing 256 GFLOPS power (1 PPE, L1 cache 32 KB, L2 cache 512 KB, and 8 SPE each one having 256 KB).
- There is 2 I/O (input/output) on CELL, to communicate with other parts of the console, the first I/O of the CELL has the main purpose to communicate with the unified shared (between the CELL and the GPU) XDR Ram memory (from RAMBUS) at a 50 GB/s bandwidth (4 * 64 MB = 256 MB of memory)
- The second I/O is called FlexIO (flexible input/output) and this allow the CELL to communicate with the next generation NVIDIA GPU at a 76.8 GB/s bandwidth (this GPU with 190 million transistors will run at a 600 MHZ, with a 32 rendering pipelines, associated with 16 MB of Toshiba Embedded DRAM of 256 GB/s bandwidth). The CELL will help the GPU in creating advanced physics for particle effects.
- Retro compatibility with PS1 (emulated by the CELL) and PS2 (emulated by the CELL)
A Hard Disk of 160 GB, Ethernet port (no modem this time), wireless, USB2 port, and a flash stick memory duo-pro support.
- The controllers will not so much differ from those of PS2, with the main difference that they will be WIRELESS, and with better analog buttons and more varied vibration effects.
- If the first CELL IBM produced prototypes are using 90 nanometer technology, the first SDKs containing the CELL that developers will receive after 2 months will be produced with this technology, but the CELLs that will be used on PS3 (and later SDKs) will be produced with the 65 nanometer technology, allowing sony to decrease the costs of PS3, and to tackle the problems of HEAT.

Our Softball season stats after week #1

It was a nasty game. We ended up losing 14-40. We actually gave up a 23 run inning. That's what did us in. To say the least we were a bit rusty. ;-)

Do I really need one of these??????

PSP-Vault is an interesting site about the inner-workings of the PSP. There is definitely some interesting stuff on there. I keep telling myself that I don't need one of these things because I already have a Tapwave Zodiac. I'll have to keep an eye on this site to see if anyone can find out a reason for me to pick one up.

Free Annual Credit Reports

This is nice. I heard about this not too long ago. I usually pull my credit report once a quarter, but this should definitely help out with the costs. It usually cost me like $40 a quarter to get a report and FICO score from each agency. Although this site doesn't provide the FICO score, it should still be helpful.

AudioBlogger

I just found out about this new feature named AudioBlogger. The that it works is that I make a call to a toll-free number and a server out there records my voice message, converts it to mp3 and then posts it on my blog automatically. I've tested it out with friends and goofing around and stuff, but I haven't found a real nice used for it yet. ;-)

It seems cool though.

New Pics

Well I finally got a chance to update the site with some new photos. One set is from a Ohio State football game that I went to at Perdue back in December and another set is from my time at the Auto Show just this past weekend.

Moving to Oak Park?????????

Well one of my New Year's resolutions was for me to get a little more serios about becoming a home owner. I've been using my suspect credit and willingness to move back to Texas as an excuse for too long. I think I am able to get something affordable with my situation now. Besides, in this age of the Internet I should be able to sell something pretty quickly if I do decide to go back to school or move back to Texas in the next couple of years. Here's a map of a few places that I will be taking a close look at in the next couple of weeks:

As you can see it's all in the same area of Oak Park, IL. I don't know what it is about that place, but I just feel the need to move out there. It seems like I know alot of "black folk" that work with me that live in that same area. It just seems like a cool and calm spot whenever I visit. Plus the commute to work won't be that bad, it should only be about 30-40 minutes. That's not bad considering that I'll be close enough to the city to take the "El" train.
